2022 2nd Quarter Topic: "Gear Privilege?"

Description:
- Some guys seem to have closets full of different gear for their fetishes
- How much of an advantage does having gear provide for participating in fetishes?
- Would you recommend having a "bare minimum" collection of gear, even if you are not totally into that sort of thing?

A huge thank you to Logan for providing this quarter's discussion topic.

My answer will immediately follow this post.

I think it's important to have a few "toys" of whatever you are interested in. For example, if you're into socks, at least have the pairs you find most sexy (color, ankle socks, sport socks, etc), or if you're into anal play, have a couple toys to offer for a session.
If you're the one asking someone for a bunch of specifics in terms of kink play, at least have the tools to provide it. I won't spend thousands of dollars of gear, but I will have a few things that peak my interests, and those of like minded people.

My collection consists of various shoes/boots, socks, various size butt plugs, flavored lubes, cheap handcuffs, and a leash and collar. If something more specific is required for play, I imagine we've met before and have already used some of this stuff.

Looking forward to read others opinion on this matter ;P

Well as my fetish is largely body play, I do have a body.. :)
I'm into wrestling, but not "pro" so for that aside from various shorts and a singlet I don't have the typical pro wrestle paraphernalia, like boots etc.
But yes, if toys enhance or are necessary, then sure, should have some of your own.
As example, I'm in BDSM, I have a full set of floggers and other impact play, and others for different play types.

For me, the top should typically supply the toys they will use, with exception if it's intimate (goes in your ass or pussy) and the bottom is more comfortable with their own, that's ok too.

@ John Thanks for your response, John!

I totally agree with your assessment! Anything intimate usually would belong to the one getting penetrated by it (unless comfortable using others). I have noticed that the ones who do have many toys aren't afraid to show them off. Usually it is the ones without any that are the ones to ask if I have any toys and if I'd be willing to buy some for a possible meet up. I don't have a problem with them asking "in theory", but I find it very ironic when I ask them "what are you into?" and they'll say a bunch of kinky activities but won't have any gear at all lol.

Since you mentioned it, a singlet is something I do want to add to my collection at some point! I've been curious about wrestling (total pro wrestling nerd too) so it's something I really should invest in LMAO.
